Michael Bisping explained his bad blood with Matt Hamill on FHMonline.com:
There is bad blood between Matt Hamill and me. We don’t get along too well and since The Ultimate Fighter 3 he’s been calling me out. He’s been saying that I’m scared of him and things like that. I don’t want to go out on a limb and a pick a problem with a deaf guy, but just because someone is deaf doesn’t mean they can’t be an asshole.
Matt’s used to getting his own way because he’s deaf and he uses it to his benefit. That was certainly the case on the show. He was doing a lot of things that were upsetting people. He had no respect for his training partners in the gym. We’d be wrestling and he’d be going crazy. It’s like, ‘Whoa! What are you doing? It’s only training!’ After the coach would call time and we’d stop sparring he’d carry on hitting you and say, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. I’m deaf. I didn’t hear it.’ But when you’re deaf your other perceptions are heightened. I’m sure he figured out that everyone stopped sparring, but he decided to throw a few more punches.
Actually, he probably wasn’t acting stupid. He probably just is stupid. That’s why I’m looking forward to fighting him and shutting his mouth.
Michael Bisping will face Matt Hamill at UFC 75: Champion vs. Champion on Saturday, September 8, 2007 live on Pay Per View
