Kurt “Batman” Pellegrino came close last weekend to scoring a win over Joe Stevenson at UFC 74. Despite the decision loss, Pellegrino is very happy with his performance. He posted on MMA.tv:

“Its been a week now and i just wanted to say some thank yous. Thanks to Joe Stevenson for a WAR!!!! I never lost at 155, but I can say I honestly wouldnt want to lose to anyone else. He’s such a standup guy, him AND his camp and it was an honor to go to war with him. He’s a great guy and I take my hat ooff to him. I’ve watched the fight a few times and it gets better everytime. I think the fight was alot closer than it was scored, but thats ok! hahahaha!

I’ll be back, better than ever. I’ll be training hard and working on some things that need fixing. Im looking forward to my next UFC fight. I wish it could be in my hometown state NJ, but first i have to heal my hand that I broke in the first round with Joe…so we’ll see how long that takes.

Thank you to everyone who’s spoke good things about me and my performance. I felt like I did good, but I can always improve. Thanks to Joe Silva and Dana White for making this fight happen and giving me a great opportunity. They always make me feel welcome, they take care of me and I appreciate it all so much. Im excited to see who they give me next. My next fight is only going to get better, thats a guarentee. Hopefully I pull out the win next time too, considering the insomnia I have from this loss really sucks! hahaha

Thanks to my training camp too, Hermes, Raphael, Guedes, “Mickey Red”, Justin Haskins, Jeff Prescott, Tim ‘Bone’ and all their wrestlers and my manager Joe Mullings. I hope I didnt let you down, but my next fight I will redeem myself. Thanks to all my friends and family who came out to vegas to support me -especially Rob Scheier who’s always there for me and keeps me sane. hahahahaha and thanks to my sponosors, Ergophobia (check it out!!), Grapplers Quest, Pipehitters Union, Premier Martial Arts.

…sorry for all the “thank you’s” but i really would be nothing without these people

All my best to Joe ‘Daddy’.

Biggest lesson learned - Losing makes you realize what it takes to be a champion.
