In a recent interview with Nbcsports.com, Fedor Emelianenko was questioned about why he decided to fight for M-1 Global as opposed to the more talent laden UFC:

Much talk among American fans is that the best fighters are in the UFC and they can’t understand why you wouldn’t want to come fight the best fighters. Do you understand that argument?

Emelianenko: If you have seen that contract (laughs), you wouldn’t ask me those questions. (laughs)

Emelianenko added he is not ducking Randy Couture and is ready to fight him.
