IFL World Grand Prix live on Canadian TV

The International Fight League announced today that Fox Sports World Canada will air this Saturday’s “IFL World Grand Prix” live from the Sears Centre in Chicago from 9-11 p.m. ET/8-10 CT. It will mark the first live national broadcast of MMA in Canada on
broadcast television.
The first hour of the event, which will feature many of the rising stars of Mixed Martial Arts (including Canadians Chris Horodecki and Brent Beauparlant), will also been seen live in the United States o MyNetworkTV. World champion “Bas” Rutten, Kenny Rice and Ron Kruck call all the action.
“We are very excited that Fox Sports World Canada and CanWest MediaWorks will be taking two hours of our event live to Canada,” said IFL co-founder and CEO Gareb Shamus. “Combined with our MyNetworkTV coverage in the United States, this will give us the largest possible North American platform to showcase our great athletes live and in primetime on free television. Our goal for 2008 is to bring all of our events to the fans live on television, and this is the latest step in achieving that goal.”
