Floridian street brawler turned MMA fighter, Kimbo Slice, was featured in an article in the Orlando Sentinel today. Kimbo noted that he has turned in his life on the streets for greener pastures in the mixed martial arts realm. “In a backyard fight, I used to enter those things high–I was smoking before I went out to fight”, Kimbo told the Sentinel. “Now it’s different. I know these guys that are fighting me are professionals. So I have to bring my A game.”
Kimbo takes on Bo Cantrell at Elite XC: Renegade on November 10th. “I’m a professional now in my life and I’m taking this thing serious, man,” said Slice in the piece. “A guy put me in an arm bar, you’ve got to break that (expletive) off. I’m not just tapping out. I don’t know what tapping out is.”
Kimbo defeated WBO boxing heavyweight champion Ray Mercer via guillotine in his MMA debut. King of the Cage veteran, Cantrell, sports 10-10-0 MMA record.
