Davis looking to stalk Swick at UFC 85

Marcus Davis and Mike Swick tangle in London in June, but the talk between them has already erupted. Davis noted the following about Swick’s reach advantage in an interview with FightHype:

I used to be the coach of Tim Sylvia. I used to spar with Tim Sylvia. I’ve been a boxer for years. I’ve boxed and sparred with other professional boxers that were 6’1 or 6’2 and I have gotten there. Technically, reach, speed and all of that stuff is irrelevant if you don’t have good timing. I have proven that I have good timing. A guy can throw a kick and I can step in and blister him for it. Timing is everything. You have guys like George Foreman, that was a slow guy, lands punches and knocks guys out. He didn’t do it because of speed or reach, but he had good timing. That’s important because I have good timing. His reach and everything else is going to be ineffective. He might run in that cage; he may try to get on his horse, but I will catch him. I’ve fought guys with much better footwork so I’m going to catch him if he does that. I don’t think he’s going to do that though. That’s not what Mike Swick is about. He’s going to throw punches and a lot of kicks. I’m expecting a lot of kicking.
