Q&A: Between Rounds radio co-host David Hiza

Co-host of the Between Rounds radio show, David Hiza, answers some questions from theMMAdigest.com.
How’d you get into MMA?
I started watching the sport back when Royce Gracie dominated the UFC. I loved it. Eventually I joined a MMA gym, just to get a better workout, and in the process got an education on the sport. I never heard anyone talk about the sport on the radio, so my partner and I decided that needed to change.
Who has been the best guest?
Matt Serra – He is hilarious and has a good time with the interview. He doesn’t take things too seriously.
Most Interesting Experience in MMA?
Going to Anderson Silva’s gym in Redondo Beach the week before his fight against Henderson. His gym was old school. It had a small boxing ring, a hard floor to train BJJ and old weights outside in the back. Nothing flashy. It was cool watching him prepare for the fight with guys like Minotauro Nogueira and talking to both of them (with the help of Silva’s interpreter of course) about preparing for big fights.
Favorite Fight?
Thats a toss up. Chuck Liddell beating Wanderlei Silva in a 3 round war is definitely up there.
Fighter you want to Interview Most?
Chuck Liddell – for whatever reason we haven’t had him on the show yet.
