Canadian native Sam Stout takes on Matt Wiman at UFC 97 in Montreal. Stout has dropped 2 straight via decision in his last 2 outings in the Octagon, but is confident he outstrike his way to victory over Wiman.
How do you feel you match up against Matt Wiman?
I feel that I match up very well with Matt Wiman, I think I will be able to match his pace and expose him in the later rounds.
You suffered 2 decision losses your last two fights, what did you pick up from those defeats that have helped you improve your game?
I was disappointed to suffer those losses, however I was able to get another six rounds of ring experience in the UFC. I feel like in this fight I need to dig deeper and put every ounce of energy I have into finishing this fight.
Where have you been training?
I have been training at my home gym in London Canada, the Adrenaline Training Center. I have also been training at Extreme Couture inLas Vegas with my coach Shawn Tompkins.
How do you see this fight going?
I see this fight being very fast paced and exciting, and if I have my way it will be primarily on the feet.
How do you feel about fighting in your home country?
I am very proud to represent my home country and I am excited to fight in front of the Montreal fans, who have always been very supportive of me.
