It makes sense for a major sponsor in Canada to bring on board GSP to their marketing campaign. Aside from being the most recognizable name in MMA in the country, he is a very good representative and ambassador for the sport. He should be raking in numerous endorsements but there is still a stigma associated with “Ultimate Fighting.” However the dollar value the sport commands removes those notions n many pockets corporate community and more and more companies are jumping on the MMA bandwagon.
If the sport was more acceptable, GSP could be to MMA in some way what Wayne Gretzky was to hockey in the Great White North.
