In the MMA world it seems that uniqueness and unusual tactics are one of the most effective ways to get an edge over opponents, this Capoeira-inspired KO.

The MMA landscape has generally accepted Muay Thai and western boxing as the most effective striking arts, but unorthodox and dangerous tactics from other traditional martial arts disciplines can often be incorporated into the mix and severely confuse opponents. Lyoto Machida has based his whole career on throwing off opponents by using his brand of Shotokan Karate. Of course it doesn’t hurt that he is extremely talented, but his stance and method of attack is unlike any other fighter encounters in the MMA gyms they train in.
