Ryan Bader will take on Lyoto Machida UFC on Fox 4

Good fight, tough to bet against Machida though.

Randy Couture’s last match in MMA is scheduled to be against Lyoto Machida at UFC 129 in Toronto, and it’s fitting that he bows out of the cage at the biggest UFC in the history of the sport, with 55,000 plus fans at the Rogers Centre.

Win, lose or draw, the MMA world definitely owes a big debt of gratitude to Couture, who diligently worked as a terrific ambassador for the sport, not only after becoming one of the first mainstream stars, but for years prior in the “dark ages” of MMA, where “human-cockfighting” was the go-to terminology for mixed martial arts.

After 14 years of being part of MMA, from UFC 13 to UFC 129, earning 6 titles, spanning 2 weight classes and fighting until the age of 47, all we can really say to Couture is “thank you.” Thanks for the hard work and dedication. Thanks for all the classic fights. Thanks for redefining the age limitations for athletes and giving inspiration to millions of fans across the globe. And thanks for being such a classy and kind representative for the sport. Best of luck beyond the UFC and thank you for everything you’ve in the sport of mixed martial arts.
