UFC Fight Night 24: Anthony Johnson talks about fighting Dan Hardy
Anthony Johnson has been a highly touted prospect for a while, but after his lost to Josh Koscheck, much of his buzz was deflated. But when you assess his athleticism, raw aggression and the fact that he’s still real young in the game, you still see a very good chance that Rumble Johnson will be a champ one day. Aside from his youth, natural ability and controlled rage he brings into the cage, he also has a monstrous size for welterweight. He suffers from the Thiago Alves weight issues at 170, where both struggle to make the cutoff mark on the day of weigh-ins. Nonetheless, the size and length of Johnson’s frame makes coupled with his skill and the fact that he still has a lot of time in this game to put all the aspects of the MMA game together, makes him a definite threat at welterweight. I think we’re going to see a Rumble resurgence against Dan Hardy. “What have you done for me lately?” is the mantra that the masses chant in their mind both on a subconscious and conscious level, and Anthony Johnson should be able to give them some fresh images of the destruction he can bring to the table at welterweight against a former title contender in the very game and dangerous Dan Hardy.
