Rich Franklin talks fighting Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 133

Typically Rich Franklin’s strategy is always the same–go out there and kickbox and try and defeat his opponent on the feet. Whether it’s Anderson Silva or Wanderlei Silva, Franklin has had that approach since the beginning of his tenure as a mixed martial artist. He likes to strike, is proficient at it, and has a burning desire to put on an exciting show for fans. Going out there and striking with “Little Nog” in this bout is likely what is going to take place again at UFC 133. That style of fight will be interesting as Franklin mixes up his strikes well, has good footwork, can throw down when needed to and at the same time can pick an opponent part via the implementation of a well-thought-out striking gameplan. His victory over Wanderlei Silva was three rounds of just that.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira always brings a good boxing skillset to the cage and some hefty power to go along with it. His talent for ground fighting might influence him to toss in a few takedowns into the mix, but for the most part expect a standup battle between these two.
