Pat Barry discusses loss to Cheick Kongo
Cheick Kongo displayed some spectacular recuperative ability to come back from being dropped twice by Pat Barry, only to knock out Barry 2:39 into the first round at the main event of UFC Live on Spike TV.
Kongo, the massive heavyweight French-man has been known for his striking prowess and heavy hands, but added a whole new dimensional to his MMA character with the come from behind heroics in Pittsburgh. Pat Barry showed his fantastic kickboxing pedigree early but was unable to seal the deal, despite coming within a hair of stopping the contest via strikess. Sometimes a quick KO defeat is almost less of a blow than coming so close to winning a fight, only to have it snatched away from in a blink of an eye. It’s going to be a long flight back to Milwaukee for Barry, who will be haunted by this loss for quite some time. However, with his positive attitude, striking skill, attitude and charisma, there’s likely to be a lot more intriguing and relevant fights for Mr. Barry on the horizon.
