Ivan Salaverry retires

MMA veteran Ivan Salaverry hung up his gloves this week. With other things to focus on including his family and training fighters, he feels it’s best to go ahead and walk away from competing at age 37. Aside from being a well rounded middleweight competitor, Salaverry, a former social worker from Toronto, was perennially a gentleman outside the cage.

Salaverry’s best known for his UFC wins over Andrei Semenov, Tony Fryklund and Joe Riggs.
