Jason MacDonald on new UFC deal

From Jason MacDonald’s blog:

“I signed a new contract with the UFC this week. It’s a new four-fight deal, so I’ll be looking forward to four more fights in the UFC and hopefully climbing my way to the top of the division.

On the next few cards there are quite a few middleweight matchups, So it will be interesting to see who they match me up with next.

My gut feeling is I’m going to fight Michael Bisping, win or lose in his upcoming bout. I have no particular reason for that. Nobody has said anything to lead me to believe that. I just see that happening. But then again Alessio Sakara just had a good knockout so maybe they’ll think that is a good matchup, another striker vs. grappler matchup.”

Frank Mir on Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture at UFC 91

“I think it’s too early in his career,” says Frank Mir on Sherdog.com about Brock Lesnar going up against Randy Couture at UFC 91. “I think he’s a great wrestler, powerful background, but Randy Couture is one of the most decorated Greco-Roman wrestlers we’ve ever had in our country. He has 12 years of MMA experience and he has the same background as Lesnar. Lesnar is basically the new Randy, a better athlete, bigger and more powerful and more dangerous, but he only has two years of [MMA] experience.”
