Forrest Griffin has had the luxury of training with a man who has defeated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson twice, Wanderlei Silva. The Brazilian has been around Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas and trained with Forrest Griffin in preparation for Griffin’s bout this Saturday night at UFC 86 against Jackson. “He gave me some ideas of stuff to do in the clinch…I stole a lot of strength and conditioning stuff from him and his guy”, commented Griffin on training with Silva.

Canada ’s first Xtreme Couture training facility, slated to open in Toronto in the spring of 2008, announced Mark Bocek is the latest fighter to join their expanding team. Mark Bocek is one of Canada ’s first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts and has been studying the art for more than a decade. Most recently, Bocek was added to the added to the UFC card to be held in Montreal in April.
“We’re pleased to have a fighter of Mark’s stature working out of our 33,000 square foot mixed martial arts and fitness training facility,” said Doug Urch, Director and Co-owner of the Xtreme Couture Gym. “He promises to be one of the best instructors and his work with some of the most prominent organizations across the world won’t go unnoticed by our clientele.”

The first Canadian Xtreme Couture training facility will open in Toronto in the Spring of 2008. The 33,000 square foot mixed martial arts and fitness training facility is the first of its kind in the country.
Located at 700 Kipling Avenue (north of the Queensway) in Etobicoke, the fitness centre will house some instructors that have fought in some of the most prominent organizations including UFC, TKO, IFL and WEC to name a few. Disciplines that will be taught at this location include: Muay Thai, BJJ, Wresting, Judo, Grappling, Boxing and Pro Training.
“This will be the first of four locations that we plan to open across Canada ,” said Doug Urch, Director and Co-owner of the Xtreme Couture Gym. Regardless of whether you’re a professional or a beginner, we have a number of classes geared towards men, women and children.”
“We have assembled a team with years of experience in both the MMA and the fitness industry. This will launch Xtreme Couture Canada as the leading training center of its kind,” said Len MacDearmid President and Co-owner.
The facility will be modeled after Randy Couture’s gym in Las Vegas, which includes a boxing ring and full size professional octagon.
