MMA Fighter Bios: JEREMY HORN

JEREMY HORN
BORN: Omaha, Nebraska
6’1 middleweight and light heavyweight

You know you’ve fought a whole lot when you just can’t be bothered to keep track of your fights anymore. Jeremy Horn lost count at 100, and has become one of the prolific fighters to ever step into the cage Jeremy Horn just loves to fight. If he could fight for free, he would. And he has. An excellent grappler, a good striker and wrestler, Horn has been able to do a great job in defending himself and avoiding punishment for most of his career, which has led to his longevity. Through around 100 fights he hadn’t been knocked out which was a colossal achievement for any fighter. A 13 year veteran of the sport with the amount he has fought and you’d think he’d be kicking around in his 50s, but he’s 34 and still loves to go out there and compete. Horn learned a lot about MMA and was part of the original Miletich team in Iowa, and just fought whenever he got the chance. His record is an incredible resume. Looking through the years you are amazed to witness the sheer volume of fights listed: 30-4-4, 50-10-4, 70-12-5, 81-19-5. Horn has defeated Gilbert Yvel, Forrest Griffin, UFC vet David Loiseau, WEC star Chael Sonnen and holds a win over UFC legend Chuck Liddell. He has a staggering 50 submissions under his belt, which is an amazing statistic. Much of his career he basically only trained to help others get ready for their fights, but still managed to pull of some big wins and heroics in the cage despite not conducting proper fight camps for himself. At one point Horn had an 18 fight win streak, at another 15 wins in a row, and has captured numerous titles in the smaller promotions he has fought for. His gym in Utah is adorned with title belts he’s earned over the years. But more importantly he has earned the respect and admiration from peers and fans alike. Even with a lack of intense desire and motivation, Horn has been able to perform well and show the world he is a quality competitor and a vast fountain of knowledge when it comes to mixed martial arts.
