Jason Mayhem Miller on his partnership with Airwalk

Tell us about your partnership with Airwalk   Let’s not even call it a partnership, shall we? Let’s call it a brotherhood. A brotherhood of the travelling pants, if you will. Because now I’m working with Airwalk, and Airwalk selected me, even though they have all the choices…

MMA Fighter Bios: URIJAH FABER

URIJAH FABER

BORN: Isla Vista, California
5’6, featherweight

“The California Kid” has been one of the most dominant fighters the 145 pound weight class has seen. He came into the MMA world with a solid wrestling base, having wrestled at the University of California—Davis, and was a two-time NCAA Division I qualifier.
But Faber had an intense desire to round out all of his skills as he entered into the MMA world in late 2003. It was working as by mid 2005 he was 8-0 and the Gladiator Challenge and “King of The Cage” Bantamweight champ. The latter title he dropped in a very exciting war with Tyson Griffin, in which Faber was stopped by strikes.
But that loss would be last for 3 years. An astounding 13 fight win streak would be on the plate for Faber, who ripped through fellow featherweights by choking, KOing, and dominating opponent after opponent. He would become champion of the WEC after defeating Cole Esovedo, and defend his belt versus Joe Pearson after submitting him from battery of strikes. Three more times in 2007 Faber would choke out opponents in defence of his WEC belt. In his 5th title defence, Faber won a decision over former UFC lightweight champ Jens Pulver. In what would be a stunning upset at the time, Mike Brown would defeat Faber by TKO in late ’08. Faber was no longer champion, but got another crack at the belt after defeating Jen Pulver in a rematch in round one. But once again Brown was victorious, this time via decision.
Faber is working diligently to improve all areas of his game, which already have been extremely solid. His wrestling is tremendous, BJJ dangerous, striking powerful, but like any great champ he wants to continue to improve and work back to getting back to the top of the ladder. Nonetheless his legacy is still in fine form, with a 22-3 record, and 4 WEC featherweight title defenses.
